LA River Center & Gardens
This charming Center offers lush gardens interspersed with fountains and playful nooks, plus an exhibit on the history of the LA River, which is close by. It is more of quick stop for the kids than a full day, but still worth the time. It was formerly Lawry's Restaurant.

570 W. Ave. 26, Cypress Park. Parking and restrooms are provided.
Directions
Car:Head past Dodger Stadium through the tunnel, past the I-5 exit then take the next exit (left lane). Make a right on Figuera St. Take the first left on Ave 26. In half a block, make a left into the parking lot.
Transit:Take the 794 Bus toward Sylmar. Exit on Figueroa St at Ave 26. Walk down Ave 26 to the Center.
