Other Projects
Over the last decades, the Los Angeles River has benefited from a significant influx of effort and hundreds of millions of spending from the City, County, State and Federal Governments. Dozens of parks have opened, bridges been restored, bike paths built, storm drains retrofitted, water treatment plants opened, and amenities added. The list of Completed Projects here details many of the larger projects that have been undertaken.
The result is that the river today is cleaner, healthier, and receiving more recreational use than any time in its post-channelization history.
Yet, dozens and dozens of other projects --some already begun, most still in the hope-to-be stage --will be required to fulfill the dream of a revitalized river that can bring the people of Los Angeles together in a safe, accessible and attractive setting. The lists of the In the Works and Proposed projects here detail many of the these future efforts.
